Dear Leaf Medical Patient,

Following the Department of Health’s latest recommendations to help identify and isolate COVID-19 and limit community spread, Leaf Medical is now able to offer COVID-19 testing for current or past infections to all New Yorkers, whether or not you have symptoms.

If you are returning to work or peacefully protesting, the Department of Health is recommending that you get tested.

Our offices (DUMBO, Carroll Gardens, and Long Island City) are able to perform:

  1. Active COVID-19 Infection Test: Nasopharyngeal swabbing

  2. COVID-19 Antibody Test: Blood testing to check for past infection or exposure.

  3. Return-to-work Physical Exam: Check in on your well being and make sure you’re healthy enough for work.

How Testing Works at Leaf Medical:

1. Please schedule a telemedicine visit.

2. The physician will review the tests available to you and address your concerns.

3. You will then be scheduled for your blood draw (antibody blood test) and/or a nasal swab (active COVID-19 infection test).

4. Your results will be sent to you through your patient portal or electronically.

Please be patient as this will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.  We will try our best to service everyone.

We look forward to seeing you and hope we can decrease the spread of COVID-19 together!

COVID-19 antibody blood testing to check for past infection (patients who are not showing symptoms of Covid-19) is NOW AVAILABLE.

It is our understanding from our Quest Representative, that Quest Diagnostics is using the Abbott Laboratory SARS-CoV-2 Serology (COVID- 19) Antibody (IgG), Immunoassay test.

.
TO GET TESTED
(please follow the next steps)
 1. Please schedule a TELEMEDICINE VISIT (fully covered by most insurances, including your co-pay):

2. The physician will assess your risk and the appropriateness of testing for active or past infection.

3. You will then be scheduled for a follow up exam and test in the office based on the physician’s telemedicine evaluation.

4. Your results will be sent to you through your patient portal or electronically.

Please be patient as this will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.  We will try our best to service everyone.  Please try to avoid calling with questions, as it may overload our support staff who are utilizing their time on phlebotomy and other tasks to expedite the on-site processes. For more detailed questions regarding the antibody test please visit the Antibody FAQ Page.

We look forward to seeing you and hope we can decrease the spread of COVID-19 together!

Come join us and grow healthy!

What we are doing to keep our patients safe?

At all our Leaf Medical offices, our team is trained on the appropriate care for patients with flu-like symptoms and are wearing masks and using protective equipment when appropriate. We are following CDC and Department of Health guidelines to limit the spread of the virus, including how we isolate patients with symptoms and how we disinfect rooms between patients.  There will be little to no wait time.   We follow a strict policy of social distancing.  As an extra precaution, we are separating visit types, which is detailed below.
