Got tested, now what?

If you have not received your PCR or Antibody Test results, please check your patient portal periodically.

Rapid test results are provided the same day that your test is performed.


RAPID TEST RESULT

Negative (-)

-Without Symptoms: Keeping yourself safe and others is crucial to preventing community spread. Continue to practice CDC guidelines and universal precautions including social distancing, quarantining, frequent hand washing and wearing of a mask or face cloth in public.

-With Symptoms: The CDC recommends that you take a confirmatory PCR test will be sent to an outside lab to ensure the results are accurate. You should quarantine at home until your PCR result is available.

POSITIVE (+)

-Without Symptoms: The CDC recommends that you isolate for 10 days from the day of your positive test result. You may be around others after the 10 days are completed as long as you remain without symptoms.

-With Symptoms: The CDC recommends that you isolate for 10 days from the day your symptoms first appeared. You may be around others if it has been:

  • 10 days since symptoms first appeared and

  • 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and

  • Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving (cough, runny nose etc.)


PCR TEST RESULT

Negative (-)

POSITIVE (+)

  • Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving (cough, runny nose, etc.)


ANTIBODY TEST RESULT

(-) or (+)

Whether you test positive or negative, continue to practice CDC guidelines and universal precautions including social distancing, quarantining, frequent hand washing and wearing of a mask or face cloth in public. COVID-19 is a new infection, and it is unclear if a positive antibody offers immunity.


Definitions

With Symptoms: Fever, Chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or Difficulty Breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea

Without Symptoms: Not showing any of the above signs.
